Who we are
Biotech is a research theme at ILRI that focuses on developing bioproducts and knowledge to enhance livestock agriculture in resource poor farming systems.
Our goal
To utilize applied and advanced research methods to develop and help disseminate technological interventions such as vaccines, diagnostics and animal breeding strategies to reduce production constraints due to disease and poor animal genetics.
Why the world needs Biotechnology
Biotechnology offers a means to reverse the reducing rates of productivity returns from agriculture in developing countries.
